Construction Underway on Spectacular Winter Garden and Limonaia at Tower Hill
|
Tower Hill Botanic Garden recently authorized Cutler Associates, to proceed with the second phase of its $6.5 million expansion project in Boylston, Massachusetts.
Cutler broke ground on the first phase of the project late last summer. The initial phase of the 24,000-square-foot project, which is to be completed this March, includes renovations on the gift shop, reception area, and exterior terrace.
The second phase, which is expected to be complete in August, will create a spectacular Winter Garden and indoor Limonaia (LemonHouse) display garden. The Winter Garden will be approximately 10,000 square feet of dramatic landscape entirely framed by the “Quad” of Tower Hill’s Education and Visitors Center. It is designed for viewing from the inside of the building looking out during the months of cold New England weather. Conversely, it will also be very welcoming garden during the growing season, and extremely adaptable to accommodate a variety of social activities and special events.
